      About the DEH-1200WP

The DanVex DEH-1200WP is a professional inverter pool dehumidifier designed for the higher-capacity end of the wall- and floor-mountable range. With 120 L/day dehumidification capacity, it covers pools up to 60 m² and rooms 110–240 m² — public indoor swimming pools, aqua parks, large hotel SPA and wellness centres, commercial food and beverage production halls, large museums and archives, and other commercial environments where moisture control runs continuously and air quality matters as much as humidity.

Most professional dehumidifiers on the market perform a single function: removing moisture. The DEH-1200WP was designed around a different question — what does the air in a public pool hall, food production floor, or commercial archive actually need? The answer: moisture control, active sterilisation, real-time air quality monitoring, corrosion resistance for aggressive chemical environments, and energy efficiency — all integrated into a single unit.

The DEH-1200WP shares an identical full-feature specification with its smaller sibling, the DEH-800WP — same compressor type, same air purification, same sensors, same connectivity. The two differ only in capacity and the size of the space they cover.

Full Inverter System: Compressor + EC Fan + EEV

The core of the DEH-1200WP is a fully inverter-based refrigeration system — three components working together rather than independently:

      • Inverter compressor — varies speed continuously based on real humidity readings. No on/off cycling, no humidity spikes, no peak-current surges on every restart.
      • Inverter EC fan — adjusts airflow independently of the compressor, optimising performance at each operating condition rather than running at a fixed speed.
      • Electronic expansion valve (EEV) — replaces the fixed capillary tube with precise electronic control of refrigerant flow, improving efficiency by 15–20% over conventional TXV valves.

Combined effect: up to 40% less electricity consumed compared to fixed-speed units running the same duty cycle. Below 36 dB(A) at 1 metre — quieter than a standard office. Stable humidity without fluctuations. Continuous 24/7 operation enabled by additional refrigerant cooling of the compressor driver.

      E-Coating: Corrosion Protection That Matters

The electrochemical anti-corrosion coating (E-Coating) on the evaporator and condenser is one of the most consequential features of the DEH-1200WP — and the least visually obvious.

Standard aluminium heat exchangers in pool environments can begin corroding within 1–3 years under chlorine vapour exposure. In heavy-use commercial pools, in conditions of elevated chlorine concentration, or in similarly aggressive environments, corrosion can appear within months. The same applies to salt spray in coastal facilities, acids and cleaning agents in food production, and solvent vapours in industrial settings.

E-Coating — the same technology used in automotive manufacturing — creates a sealed protective layer that resists:

      • Chlorine and chloramine vapours (swimming pools)
      • Salt vapours and spray (coastal facilities, salting lines, fish processing)
      • Organic acids, oils, and cleaning agents (food and beverage production)
      • Industrial solvents and chemical vapours (manufacturing, laboratories)

      Standard, not optional

E-Coating is included as standard on every DEH-1200WP unit. It is not an upgrade, not an option, and not available as a retrofit. In environments with chemical vapours, E-Coating significantly extends service life compared to uncoated heat exchangers. The control board is additionally protected with a special composite compound coating to resist humidity.

UV Lamp + Anion Generator: Active Air Purification

      UV Sterilisation

A UV-C lamp in the airflow path eliminates bacteria, mould spores, and viruses as air passes through the unit — without chemicals, replaceable filters, or additional equipment. Particularly effective in:

      • Pool environments — bacteria from pool water become airborne and recirculate through the room. UV neutralises them at source.
      • Food production — reduces microbial contamination risk in processing and packaging areas.
      • Medical and pharmaceutical — supports clean-room and hygiene protocols.
      • Museums and archives — prevents mould forming on paper, canvas, textiles, and wood.

      Anion Generator (Ioniser)

The ioniser produces negatively charged ions that bind to airborne allergens, fine dust, and bacteria, causing them to precipitate out of the air. In pool facilities this reduces chloramine irritants — the compounds responsible for eye and skin discomfort in swimmers — that standard ventilation alone cannot fully address.

5-in-1 Air Quality Sensor: What It Measures and Why

Standard dehumidifiers measure one thing: humidity. The DEH-1200WP monitors five parameters simultaneously, all readable on the unit display, in the mobile app, and through Modbus RTU RS-485 to the facility BMS:

      • CO₂ — a direct indicator of ventilation adequacy. Levels rise rapidly in occupied public pools and gyms, and the unit uses the readings to modulate fresh-air intake automatically.
      • PM2.5 (fine particles) — particles below 2.5 microns — mould spores, bacteria fragments, chloramine aerosols. Elevated PM2.5 in a pool hall is an early warning of microbial activity or chemical off-gassing, detectable before it becomes visible or hazardous.
      • TVOC (total volatile organic compounds) — chemical vapours from cleaning products, pool chemicals, adhesives, and coatings. High TVOC is a health hazard and accelerates heat exchanger corrosion.
      • Relative Humidity (RH) — the primary control parameter, measured precisely and continuously.
      • Temperature (T°) — ambient temperature monitoring for operational optimisation and reporting.

Built-in monitoring eliminates the need for external hygrostats, transducers, and dedicated BMS air-quality sensors — reducing installation cost and integration complexity. In regulated environments, continuous sensor logs are available for compliance documentation via Modbus RTU RS-485.

Hot Gas Defrost: 3 Minutes, from +5°C

Below +18°C, a conventional dehumidifier’s evaporator begins to ice up. Conventional defrost methods — passive (compressor off, fan running) or electric heater — take 20–30 minutes, during which dehumidification stops entirely. In an unheated pool hall in winter, that is a meaningful gap.

The DEH-1200WP uses Hot Gas Defrost: warm refrigerant gas routes directly over the evaporator surface. The cycle completes in 3 minutes. The unit operates continuously and effectively at temperatures from +5°C — covering unheated pool halls, cold storage, early spring and late autumn operation, and logistics facilities where ambient temperatures drop below normal heated-building ranges.

Installation: Wall or Floor — One Unit, Two Options

      • Wall mounting — bracket included in the standard package. All service components accessible via the front panel; maintenance without removing the unit from the wall.
      • Floor installation — 6 adjustable aluminium feet for levelling on uneven surfaces.

The powder-coated steel casing with internal pyramid-shaped acoustic foam keeps operating noise below 36 dB(A). Both installation options use the same unit — the choice is made on site, no separate SKU or configuration.

      Connectivity and BMS Integration

      • Wi-Fi — remote control, monitoring, and alerts via mobile app from anywhere.
      • Modbus RTU RS-485 — full integration into building management systems (BMS / SCADA).
      • Both protocols active simultaneously — no configuration trade-off.

Set targets, review logs, receive alerts, and adjust parameters remotely. For facilities with BMS infrastructure, the DEH-1200WP integrates directly without additional gateways. In multi-unit installations — a hotel complex with several pool halls, a multi-zone food production facility — centralised oversight from a single screen replaces individual physical inspection rounds.

      FAQ — DEH-1200WP

When do you need a 120 L/day pool dehumidifier instead of an 80 L/day model?
A 120 L/day inverter dehumidifier is required when pool surface exceeds 35 m² or room volume exceeds approximately 130 m². The DanVex DEH-1200WP covers pools up to 60 m² and rooms 110–240 m². Other indicators that 120 L/day is the right tier: continuous high-occupancy use (public pools, fitness clubs, hotel SPA), elevated water temperatures above 30°C (warmer water evaporates faster), open showers or aqua features inside the pool hall, and food production or warehouses with active moisture sources. If your space is at the upper boundary of an 80 L/day unit’s range, choose the DEH-1200WP — an undersized unit runs at full load continuously, which shortens compressor life and never reaches target humidity.
Which pool dehumidifier is suitable for a public indoor swimming pool?
A public pool puts higher demands on the dehumidifier than a private one: longer operating hours, higher occupancy producing more sweat and CO₂, more frequent water-surface disturbance increasing evaporation, and stricter air-quality requirements. The DanVex DEH-1200WP addresses these with 120 L/day capacity for pools up to 60 m², E-Coating against chlorine corrosion, a UV-C lamp and anion generator to control airborne microbes and chloramine irritants, the 5-in-1 air quality sensor (CO₂, PM2.5, TVOC, RH, T°) for compliance documentation, and Modbus RTU RS-485 for integration into the facility BMS. For pools above 60 m² or with very high bather load, ducted dehumidification (the DanVex DD or DD-FX series) is the appropriate alternative.
When do you need a ducted dehumidifier instead of a wall-mounted one?
Wall-mounted units like the DEH-1200WP are the right choice when the dehumidifier sits inside the conditioned space and recirculates the air it dehumidifies. A ducted dehumidifier is needed when: (1) the equipment must be hidden in a plant room and air is supplied through ducts, (2) the same unit must serve multiple rooms, (3) fresh-air intake must be mixed and conditioned together with recirculated air, or (4) capacity exceeds what wall-mounted units offer (above 120 L/day or pools above 60 m²). For these cases, look at the DanVex DD series (recirculation), DD-F (with fresh-air mixing), or DD-FX (full climate control with heating, cooling, and ventilation). The DEH-1200WP itself is a recirculation unit and does not connect to ducting.
What electrical protection does a professional pool dehumidifier require?
The DanVex DEH-1200WP has Class I electrical protection (earthed enclosure) and IPX4 water-splash protection as standard. The control board carries an additional composite compound coating to resist humidity in pool-hall environments. The unit draws 4.0–7.8 A on 220–230 V single-phase, single-circuit. External circuit protection — the type of residual-current device (RCD), circuit breaker rating, and conductor sizing — depends on local electrical codes and installation specifics, and must be determined by a qualified electrician on site. For BMS-integrated installations, the Modbus RTU RS-485 cable should be shielded twisted pair, properly grounded at one end, and run separately from power cables to avoid interference.
What factors influence the lifespan of a pool dehumidifier?
Five factors determine how long a pool dehumidifier lasts. (1) Heat exchanger corrosion — chlorine and salt vapours aggressively attack uncoated aluminium fins; E-Coating on the DEH-1200WP forms a protective barrier that significantly extends service life. (2) Compressor cycling — fixed-speed compressors stop and start hundreds of times per day; an inverter compressor varies speed continuously and runs far fewer cycles. (3) Defrost cycle frequency and duration — Hot Gas Defrost (3 min) puts much less thermal stress on components than passive or electric defrost (20–30 min). (4) Air filter maintenance — a clogged G4 filter forces the fan and compressor to work harder; clean or replace per the manual. (5) Correct sizing — an undersized unit runs at full load continuously and wears out faster. With proper installation, sizing, and basic maintenance, a professional pool dehumidifier should give 10+ years of service.
