      About the DEH-K Series

The DanVex DEH-K Series is a range of stationary industrial dehumidifiers for permanent installation in spaces where humidity control is part of the building or process specification: manufacturing facilities, large warehouses and logistics centres, food and pharmaceutical production, plant cultivation facilities, and infrastructure environments where humidity threatens equipment.

The four model designations cover dehumidification capacities from 200 to 1000 litres per day. The DEH-3K, DEH-5K, and DEH-10K share a full premium specification — Inverter compressor, E-Coating-protected heat exchanger, 5-in-1 air quality sensor, UV sterilisation lamp, anion generator, Wi-Fi + Modbus RTU RS-485 connectivity, Hot Gas Defrost, and three-phase 380–415 V power. The DEH-2K is offered in two configurations differentiated by electrical supply: a three-phase 380–415 V version, and a single-phase 220–230 V version — both detailed in the Models section below.

Every DEH-K unit is built around vertical top-discharge airflow: air is drawn through the front filter panel and discharged upward through the cabinet top. This format eliminates short-circuit recirculation in the unit’s own air, distributes dry air toward the upper room volume where moisture accumulates by convection, and connects directly to overhead ductwork without additional plenums. All models use R-32 refrigerant and meet IPX4 ingress protection.

      Models in the Range

DEH-2K available in two distinct configurations:

      DEH-2K

      200 L/day · 2500 m³/h · 380–415 V three-phase · fixed-speed compressor · Blue Fin · IPX4 · 161 kg

For large-volume basic dehumidification at the lowest cost-per-litre — warehouses, infrastructure spaces, basic industrial halls, and any site already wired for three-phase.

      DEH-2K Inverter

      ~240 L/day · 2800–3200 m³/h · 220–230 V single-phase · Full Inverter · E-Coating · EC fan motor · IPX4 · 110 kg

A compact premium alternative delivering upper-tier feature set on single-phase supply — food and pharmaceutical production, plant cultivation, and any installation requiring precise RH control without three-phase wiring.

Indicative coverage: ~150–360 m² depending on configuration and conditions.

      DEH-3K 300 L/day · 2800–3500 m³/h · 156 kg · Full Inverter

      Indicative coverage: spaces ~250–450 m²

Recommended for: medium production facilities, food and pharmaceutical processing rooms, mid-size warehouses, plant cultivation, commercial spaces with stable RH requirements. Full Inverter + E-Coating + IPX4.

      DEH-5K 500 L/day · 4800–5300 m³/h · 207 kg · Full Inverter

      Indicative coverage: spaces ~400–700 m²

Recommended for: large production halls, food processing facilities, large grow rooms, manufacturing areas with cyclical humidity loads. 250 Pa static pressure for ducted operation.

      DEH-10K 1000 L/day · 9500–12 000 m³/h · 330 kg · Full Inverter, 300 Pa

Indicative coverage: spaces ~700–1500 m², or central HVAC integration via ductwork

Recommended for: very large industrial facilities, logistics warehouses, multi-zone production sites, central building HVAC integration. 300 Pa static pressure handles long duct runs.

Coverage figures are indicative for typical industrial conditions (medium humidity load, ceilings around 4–6 m, normal air-change rates). Actual sizing depends on initial RH, target RH, ceiling height, infiltration, process moisture sources, and whether the unit operates standalone or via ductwork. For food production with active wet cycles, plant cultivation rooms with active transpiration, or large open spans, contact us for project-specific sizing — high-capacity selection benefits from a moisture load calculation rather than a rule-of-thumb.

      Which Model Should I Choose?

      Application Guide

ApplicationWhy DEH-K is the right fitRecommended model
Food production — meat and cured meats, cheese, confectionery, spices, fish dryingCuring chambers for cured meats, cheese maturation rooms, confectionery production, spice processing, and fish drying all require precise RH held within narrow bands — humidity drift directly affects product quality, shelf life, and weight loss profiles. Full Inverter modulation holds RH steady where fixed-speed equipment overshoots. E-Coating resists organic acids, brines, and chlorinated cleaning agents typical of food processing. UV sterilisation and anion generator reduce airborne microbial load between cleaning cycles.DEH-3K / DEH-5K typical
      DEH-10K for large facilities
Pharmaceutical production & cleanroom supportPharmaceutical processes are sensitive to humidity drift — tablet hardness, capsule integrity, powder hygroscopic behaviour, and active-ingredient stability all depend on stable RH. Full Inverter holds setpoint without cycling spikes. Modbus RTU RS-485 integrates with BMS and validated facility monitoring. UV + ion + 5-in-1 sensor support strict hygiene protocols. Solvent-free electrochemical E-Coating is suitable for environments with stringent material-contact restrictions.DEH-3K / DEH-5K typical
      DEH-10K for facility-wide
Manufacturing — furniture, paint shops, electronics, printingFurniture and woodworking (timber stability), paint shops (paint adhesion and curing), electronics assembly (PCB moisture, ESD-related humidity windows), and printing/typography (paper dimensional stability, ink behaviour) all rely on controlled humidity. Top-discharge airflow distributes dry air toward high ceilings; Full Inverter handles cyclical loads from production schedules without short-cycling.DEH-3K / DEH-5K per zone
      DEH-10K for whole-hall
Large warehouses & logistics centresSeasonal humidity in warehouses causes condensation on packaging, cardboard collapse, label damage, and corrosion of metal goods (steel, machine parts, tools). Static pressure of 200–300 Pa across the range supports duct distribution to multi-zone facilities, including class A logistics centres. Permanent installation on Modbus RTU RS-485 integrates with site facility management systems.DEH-2K / DEH-3K for moderate loads
      DEH-5K / DEH-10K for large halls
Plant cultivation & medicinal cannabis facilitiesIndoor cultivation of vegetables, herbs, ornamentals, and licensed medicinal cannabis requires tight humidity control across vegetative, flowering, and drying phases — humidity targets shift by stage, and excursions cause mould (botrytis), powdery mildew, and yield loss. Active plant transpiration adds significant moisture load (often 1–2 L per plant per day at flowering). Full Inverter modulates against the plant load curve; UV sterilisation and anion generator reduce airborne pathogen load; Modbus RTU RS-485 integrates with cultivation control systems. Top-discharge airflow distributes dry air above the canopy without disturbing plants.DEH-3K per grow room
      DEH-5K / DEH-10K for commercial facilities
Infrastructure — pumping stations, water utilities, server rooms, electrical switchgearPumping stations, water treatment facilities, telecommunications shelters, server rooms, and electrical switchgear rooms all suffer condensation on cold equipment surfaces. Condensation causes corrosion, insulation breakdown, and short-circuit risk. Permanent stationary dehumidification on Modbus RTU RS-485 integrates with site SCADA. The DEH-2K is a cost-effective solution for infrastructure spaces; upper models cover larger plant rooms and multi-cabinet halls.DEH-2K / DEH-3K typical

      Why Top-Discharge Airflow Matters

Most condensation-type dehumidifiers on the industrial market discharge air horizontally — either out the front or out the side — because that is the simplest layout. In an industrial space with high ceilings, this creates two problems.

First, dehumidified air discharged at floor level immediately falls back toward the unit’s intake (it is colder and denser than room air after passing through the evaporator). This causes the dehumidifier to recirculate its own dry air without affecting the room as a whole — the so-called short-circuit effect. Capacity numbers drop, room RH stays high.

Second, water vapour is lighter than dry air. Moisture rises and accumulates near the ceiling by natural convection — often visible as condensation on overhead pipework, structural steel, or exposed rafters. A horizontal-discharge dehumidifier never reaches that air mass.

The DEH-K Series uses vertical top-discharge: dry air is pushed upward through the cabinet top, mixes with the upper room volume where moisture concentrates, and the resulting circulation carries it back down through the front intake at floor level. The unit dehumidifies the whole room volume, not just the air immediately around it. Top-discharge also connects directly to overhead ductwork without additional plenums, which is the practical reason it is the standard format for commercial and industrial installations.

How Does DEH-K Compare to the Market?

The European market for high-capacity stationary dehumidifiers spans three tiers: industrial-grade equipment from major specialist manufacturers (full feature set, premium price), mid-range commercial-industrial units (selected features, mainstream price), and entry-level commercial dehumidifiers (basic feature set). The table below positions the DEH-K Series — specifically the Full Inverter models DEH-3K, DEH-5K, and DEH-10K — against typical mid-range and entry-level specifications in the industrial segment.

About this comparison: ‘Mid-range market industrial dehumidifier’ refers to typical specifications of stationary commercial-industrial dehumidifiers in the mid-price segment from established European manufacturers. ‘Entry-level’ refers to the lower price segment. Feature availability is based on currently published specifications.

      FAQ — Frequently Asked Questions

How do you size a stationary industrial dehumidifier for a factory or large warehouse?
Industrial sizing is based on a moisture load calculation, not a rule-of-thumb area number. Inputs include space volume (not just floor area — ceiling height matters), initial RH and target RH, infiltration rate (air changes per hour from doors, ventilation, and gaps), process moisture sources (wet processes, cleaning cycles, occupant load, plant transpiration), and outdoor humidity at design conditions. As a working starting point: 1 L/day of dehumidification capacity per ~1.5–2 m² of floor area for typical industrial conditions with 4–6 m ceilings. The DEH-K Series therefore covers ~150 m² (DEH-2K) up to ~1500 m² (DEH-10K) under typical conditions. For food production with active wet cycles, plant cultivation rooms, or spaces with high outdoor air infiltration, capacity requirements are higher. Contact us for a project-specific calculation.
What is the difference between Full Inverter and fixed-speed industrial dehumidifiers?
A fixed-speed compressor runs at full power until the target humidity is reached, then shuts off — causing humidity spikes between cycles, peak power consumption on every restart, and accelerated mechanical wear from on/off cycling. An inverter compressor varies its speed continuously to match the actual moisture load: it runs at low power when the room is near setpoint and ramps up only when needed. The result is up to 40% lower energy consumption, no humidity drift, lower noise (no compressor start/stop cycles), and significantly longer compressor service life. For facilities running dehumidification continuously, the inverter premium typically pays back within the first few seasons of operation through electricity savings alone — before counting reduced maintenance and longer equipment life. In the DanVex DEH-K range, the DEH-3K, DEH-5K, and DEH-10K use inverter compressors as standard. The DEH-2K is offered in two configurations: a Standard fixed-speed version (three-phase, 200 L/day) for basic large-volume dehumidification at the lowest cost-per-litre, and an Inverter version (220–230 V single-phase, ~240 L/day) with the same premium feature set as the upper models — useful where precise RH control matters or three-phase supply is unavailable.
Why is top-discharge airflow important in industrial applications?
Two physical effects make horizontal-discharge dehumidifiers under-perform in high-ceiling industrial spaces. First, dry air leaving a dehumidifier is colder and denser than room air, so it falls and gets re-ingested by the unit — short-circuiting the dehumidification cycle. Second, water vapour is lighter than dry air and accumulates near the ceiling by convection, where horizontal-discharge units cannot reach it. Top-discharge airflow pushes dry air upward into the high-moisture upper volume, drives a full-room circulation, and the same outlet connects directly to overhead ductwork without an additional plenum or transition. It is the standard format for industrial and commercial installations where ceilings exceed 3–4 m.
Can a stationary industrial dehumidifier be connected to ductwork?
Yes. Stationary industrial dehumidifiers with sufficient static pressure can be ducted to distribute dry air across multiple zones or to specific delivery points. Static pressure determines the maximum duct length and number of fittings the unit can handle: in the DEH-K Series, the DEH-2K and DEH-3K offer 200 Pa, the DEH-5K offers 250 Pa, and the DEH-10K offers 300 Pa for long duct runs or central HVAC integration. Top-discharge airflow makes the duct connection straightforward — the outlet is on the cabinet top, ready to attach to a vertical duct. Filter access remains on the front panel, so the unit can be installed against a wall.
Does a high-capacity industrial dehumidifier require three-phase power?
Most high-capacity industrial dehumidifiers do require three-phase 380–415 V supply. Reasons are practical: peak power for the larger compressor (up to 21 kW on the DEH-10K) exceeds what a single-phase circuit can reasonably deliver; three-phase reduces motor torque pulsation and current per phase; and most industrial buildings already have three-phase infrastructure in place. The DEH-K range — DEH-3K, DEH-5K, DEH-10K, and DEH-2K — runs on three-phase 380–415 V at 50–60 Hz. For sites where three-phase is unavailable, the DEH-2K Inverter version operates on 220–230 V single-phase and delivers up to ~240 L/day with the full premium feature set: Full Inverter (inverter compressor and Smart-Inverter EC fan), E-Coating, 5-in-1 air sensor, UV + Anion purification, and Wi-Fi + Modbus RTU RS-485 connectivity — an upper-tier feature set on standard single-phase supply. Below this capacity tier, the DanVex DEH-i Series (mobile industrial dehumidifiers) covers up to 180 L/day on standard 220–230 V single-phase.
How loud is a stationary industrial dehumidifier?
Modern industrial dehumidifiers produce noise from two sources: the compressor and the fan. Inverter compressors run quieter than fixed-speed equivalents because they avoid start-stop transients. In the DEH-K Series, the DEH-3K runs at 36–42 dB(A), the DEH-5K at 38–45 dB(A), and the DEH-10K at 40–47 dB(A) at 1 m — the variable range corresponds to inverter modulation between low and full load. The DEH-2K (fixed-speed) runs below 55 dB(A). For comparison, normal conversation is around 60 dB(A) and a busy office is 50–55 dB(A). All DEH-K models are quiet enough for installation in occupied production areas, plant rooms, and back-of-house facility spaces.
What air quality monitoring and purification features are built into modern industrial dehumidifiers?
Modern industrial dehumidifiers go beyond moisture control to address overall indoor air quality. The DEH-K Series includes three integrated systems as standard. The 5-in-1 air sensor monitors CO₂ (ventilation adequacy), PM2.5 (fine particles — mould spores, bacteria fragments, dust), TVOC (volatile organic compounds from chemicals and processes), relative humidity, and temperature — all continuously, with readings available via Wi-Fi app and Modbus to BMS. UV sterilisation lamps in the airflow path eliminate bacteria, mould spores, and viruses as air passes through the unit. The anion generator (ioniser) produces negatively charged ions that bind to airborne particulates, allergens, and pathogens, causing them to precipitate out of the air. Together these reduce microbial load and support hygiene protocols in food production, pharmaceutical manufacturing, plant cultivation, and other contamination-sensitive environments.
